KARIN LATEGAN
ACCREDITED PRACTICING DIETITIAN AND CREDENTIALLED DIABETES EDUCATION
Karin Lategan is an experienced Credentialled Diabetes Educator, Practicing Dietitian, and Certified Insulin Pump Trainer over 18 years in the field. She earned her Dietetic at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 1998, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Care from Warwick University,, in 2006.
Having worked in both South Africa and England, Karin joined Queensland Health in 2007 and transitioned to private practice after 14 fulfilling years. As a Certified Insulin Pump Trainer for AMSL, Insulet and Medtronic, she is dedicated to empowering individuals living with Diabetes to take control of their health.
Residing in the Fraser Coast Community with her husband and four children, Karin is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those managing Diabetes.
WILLEM LATEGAN
REGISTERED NURSE AND CREDENTIALLED DIABETES EDUCATION
Willem Lategan is an experienced Credentialled Diabetes Educator, who finished his studies as a Registered Nurse in Australia in 2018. He is has been working for Queensland Health since 2018 and is currently a Clinical Nurse in the Mental Health Unit.

He finished his qualification as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator in 2024 and has since then worked in Private Practice as a CDE part-time.
​
He is married to Karin and is a loving husband and father to their four children.
